Prasanna De Silva is World Vision International’s (WVI) Senior Director of Operations/COO for the South Asia & Pacific Region and currently based in Singapore. Prasanna provides the overall leadership to the regional office in terms of operations, programs, finance, human resources, communications and enterprise risk management. He has over two decades of experience in international development, an MBA and a diploma certificate in non-profit management. Spent 8 years as a community development worker at the grassroots level, this experience equipped him with an excellent understanding of poor and marginalized communities, and skills in community mobilization, capability building, and interfaith harmonization. It also helped him realize the importance of partnerships and close collaboration with local government agencies and other community development actors. In the little spare time he has, He is also an avid writer of blogs, an example of which is his authorship of the WV Australia blog.
